News Ideas

I have a couple of decent ideas for a news story:

1) Interview the architect working on the new building.

2) Interview Mr. Harrington on snow days. This would be a funny topic that we could also interview Mrs. Kenny and some students on.

3) Somehow contact JJ Redick and interview him on his greatness and on his podcasts which I have been listening to a lot. I don't know if this is possible. More of a dream for me.

Senioritis

Filming news is very fun and simple. If you have a good topic, all you need to do I set up good shots and find the right people. In our case, any senior would have worked. We decided to get Sue Towslee and Mr. Nicholson because we knew they would be funny and into it. Ms. Towslee is also our school's receptionist so interviewing her made sense. She is the one who deals with all of the seniors who are constantly leaving school. We decided to film outside. Half because it was a nice day, and half because it felt right considering senioritis takes place is the spring where people are generally outside. It gave off a good vibe. It was a windy day, so Ian helped us out by giving us a dead cat. This was the first time I had used a dead cat and it helped a lot. Without it, our sound would have been terrible. We used two lights to make sure it looked good and there were no shadows. I feel that our shot of Mr. Nicholson could have been better. In the future, this wouldn't happen and a better shot would have been taken. Overall, I think we have a fun topic that people will get a laugh out of.
